“Bidon’s contributions to The George Stinney Project are full of thoughtful references that cut to the core of his purposes. Quotations from the likes of James Baldwin are fused with images through both letterpress and offset lithography processes. The results are elegant and defy categorization as either straightforward artwork or political poster. They also share important content within a community space.”

Cheryl D. Miller: print, Offset Litho and Letterpress
For a small city in the smallest state, Rhode Island has produced outsized Black artists in a variety of genres. In the 19th century, artists such as Sissieretta Jones, Nancy Elizabeth Prophet, and Christiana Cartreaux Bannister brought music, visual art, and style to the city. The 20th century saw artists such as Mahler B. Ryder and Cheryl Miller further Black art and design here and in the world.
